The lovely folks at Dr. Alkaitis were kind enough to send me a travel kit for review. I’ve heard fantastic things about this brand and was pumped to get my paws on the kit (especially at the end of a rough day). Let me tell you upfront – these products lived up to expectations and then some.
I’ll review the products over a series of posts and will start with my three most used products.
Organic Purifying Facial Cleanser: This cleanser is incredibly gentle and cleans the skin without drying it out. It easily removes makeup from my face – after giving my eyes a quick sweep with coconut oil to remove eye makeup, this cleanser is able to remove everything that’s left. I can’t think of a skin type that wouldn’t love this cleanser. It provides a clean base for whatever product you want to apply next. This cleanser contains a smattering of oils that help nourish and clean the skin.
Organic Day Crème: My face eats this stuff up. It’s the only way to describe it. My dry skin eats this up like it’s a gourmet meal. It’s incredibly light weight and a little bit goes a long way. If you’re a makeup wearer and lover like me, this creme will provide a nice smooth base for application. If not, you’ll just have super soft and amazing skin. It has a light, earthy scent that will bring you a bit of calm before embarking on your day.
Organic Nourishing Treatment Oil: This is my favorite product in the whole kit. I’ve mixed it with day crème for an extra moisture boost and I’ve used it alone as a moisturizer. Most days I will use this after applying day crème to spot treat dry areas on my face. If you have dry skin, this oil will be your new best friend. During a recent bout with the flu, I was incredibly dehydrated and used this oil constantly to give my skin some extra help. You can also use this oil as a scalp treatment or on the body. While it may not be the absolute cheapest of oils on the market, this is a case of truly getting what you pay for – a very tiny amount provides incredible results. I’ve tried many a facial oil and this is my favorite.
I’ve been incredibly impressed with Dr. Alkaitis products and will be purchasing my favorites when I need to restock my beauty cabinet. These products feel alive on your face – not in a tingly, painful astringent way (flashback to my teen years) but in a way that lets you know that the products are interacting with your skin in a nourishing and replenishing way. I could go on about how much I love this entire product line but will save it for the next posts when I review their Organic Night Crème, Organic Eye Crème, Organic Herbal Toner, Organic Soothing Gel, and Organic Universal Mask.
Disclosure: Dr. Alkaitis provided MargitMae with a complementary travel kit for this product review.
